Laurie worked for several small businesses during her early career, then left the world of business when she found "security" in working for a municipal police service.
Throughout her 12+ years working in various divisions of the Service, (from 9-1-1 operator to Major Crime) she eventually came to rest working in Senior Management as a Payroll Coordinator, administrating annual payroll in excess of $28,000,000 and serving on a hiring panel for aspiring police officers.
During her time with the police service, she continued to keep one foot in the business world by providing bookkeeping services to small businesses and running one profitable and one not-so-profitable MLM business.
Feeling the enormous pull for freedom and the need to control her own destiny, Laurie pursued professional certification as a Life Coach and Business/Executive Coach, graduating with certification in both fields.
She started working with individuals who also wanted to take control over their lives and discovered that the gaps, challenges and unknowns she faced while building her own business were a common theme among many of her clients.
She made it her mission to find answers to the questions, and solutions to the problems, so she could not only increase her own business success, but the success of her clients as well.
Laurie is not only a Professional Coach, but also a Mentor and Resource to her clients and readers. Laurie has authored numerous articles on work/life balance and small and home-based business practices and strategies. She is regularly invited to contribute articles to online small business magazines, and currently hosts a "Coach's Corner" advice column in a United Kingdom home-based business newsletter.
She lives in Northern Ontario, Canada and when she's not fighting mosquitoes the size of small birds or building snow forts in the winter, you'll find her up to her elbows in dirt in her beautiful flower gardens. |
