I've had my own home based business since 1975 and do I ever wish I had The HBB Confidential appearing in my mailbox back then! Over the years I have instituted much of the advice you share and take it from me, you know your stuff!
Your December 11, 2005 issue really connected with me as I read (with saliva running down my chin) about your "Date with Destiny" and the Simply Delicious chocolate bar. You see, I too am a chocoholic.
Unbeknownst to you, you "gave me permission" to also enjoy a Date with Destiny. I, too, had been a good girl most of the year and did not indulge in the foods I love, but don't love me. So, over the Holiday season I did enjoy some of them and each time I did, I remembered you looking upon this as a reward (guilt-free, hah!) and knowing that I had earned it. I think of "rewarding" in ways other than food more often now because I tend to be a nose-to-the-grindstone type of person and need to look up and see the rest of the world now and then.

Dear Laurie Thank you for sharing your insights. I have been listening / reading you for years now...
(I have listened to your recommended call-seminars, and spoke to you once about organizing everything from my office, tool room, yard, house, business and such. You spent a fair amount of time after the call with recommendations - I believe one may have been to get an hour timer- to help dedicate exclusive time to a particular task i.e.- clean off desk in next 15 minutes (take no other calls or actions- till done, or timer rings--- then report back in at end of day).
I just bought the timer this year ... But to make up for lost time, I bought two timers (ha ha ha ha) One for the home office and another for the job site.
I find myself offering some fantastic advice to other individuals and business... which subsequently you have been a motivational influence.
